What is the point of even having a plugin API if it is as fragile as the one in Discourse?

If you don’t have the time for occasional maintenance then I’d recommend reducing the amount of customization as much as possible.

Note that I understand your frustration, everything here who have developed plugins, themes or component face depreciations and mandatory updates.

This is getting annoying tbh, every year now we have to rebuild the entire component. It shouldn’t be this hard to maintain a theme
