Digest emails not sent

I have a client who’s looking to use Discourse to replace some mailing lists. We’ve set up two test accounts.

One is signed up for daily digests, but received no digest yesterday. Only two digests went out yesterday. I haven’t done a query to make sure that’s wrong, but I’d think that more than that should have gone out.

It’s very important to this client that emails get delivered. Are there other reasons that digests would not be sent? Are they sent only if there are “hot” topics, maybe?

They are sent to accounts that didn’t log into Discourse in the interval. Is this account last_seen old enough?

And there was new topics and posts in this interval? In categories that this user can read?

Also, nothing in /admin/email/skipped?

Hmnm. It’s just new topics, not posts. That could be it.

Remember new user posts aren’t included in digests for safety reasons. There’s a user pref and a site setting for this.
