# Disable highlight quote behavior

Hi,

The highlight to quote behavior modifies the DOM when the user selects text in a way that is problematic for us.

Is there a way to disable it completely or disable it within a specified div?

Note that turning off the quote to highlight user setting prevents the “Quote” overlay from popping up, but it doesn’t disable the DOM modification behavior that is problematic for us.

That’s the only available setting, sorry.
