Discourse Adplugin - Error occurred with Asense code

#1

Has anyone gotten the Discourse Adplugin to work on Discourse v2.0? It says it officially only supports up to 1.4, but the latest is up to v.2.0 and some change. I’m on V2.0.0-beta2+4. Any luck or am I SOL?

Which ad-plugin specifically? There are a few of them out there…

The #official plugin - https://github.com/discourse/discourse-adplugin - definitely works on 2.0.0.

That’s the one I’m using. git clone https://github.com/discourse/discourse-adplugin.git is in my app.yml. There’s also NO /var/docker folder to run cd /var/docker git pull ./launcher rebuild app commands. The plugin loads fine according to the settings, all the config boxes appear in the GUI settings and is loaded as Y, but I get errors on adsense.

Is this a matter of revalidating my website ownership through Adsense, and nothing to do with Discourse?

Thanks for everything

Oops, that’s an old path. Use /var/discourse instead.

I’ve submitted a PR to change this in the README:

Cool, that’s the official one (that is working on other sites). The instructions are out of date, however, you should run cd /var/discourse, not cd /var/docker. I’ll update the instructions on Github. I’ll merge @fefrei’s PR.

Can you share the errors you’re seeing? It’s very hard to help you troubleshoot without knowing specifically what the issue is.

Edit: PR merged.

Ran ./launcher rebuild app from /var/discourse. The only issue I saw was a slightly out of date Docker version. The error I’m getting is inside the settings GUI of Discourse, simply stating “An error occured” under the setting when I attempt to attach my publisher code.

I’m going to guess this is because I added my site to Adsense and it’s somehow validated when I check but not actually validated. Perhaps removing it and readding it would fix this up.
