# Discourse as a personal Inbox

Is it a viable option to use Discourse as a personal Inbox? Has anyone ever considered such an idea, what would be the drawbacks and pitfalls of using Discourse as a personal Inbox?

It does already have plenty of things:

- multiple inboxes
- categorizations, tagging, and sophisticated search
- attachments
- backups (including attachments)
- group chats via staged users

Am I missing some potential issues of using Discourse this way?
