Back in the day when I was running Discourse for an internal community where I worked, teams within the community experimented with running their own blogs: How to enable your community to use Discourse as a (micro) blogging platform
There may be some overlap with what this idea of “journals” as well: Journal Plugin
And, you could say this is another hint of why people might want a more integrated experience between their blog and their community: Embed Discourse as a full comment system on your site
