# Discourse DM related development

**What would you like done?**

I need some modification to discourse so limit who User can send a private message too.

The current private message limit based on trust level is great.

However, we want the user to be able to send private messages to trust level 4 or above while limiting their ability to send private messages to other users below trust level 4.

The end results from a user’s perspective should be:

When a trust level 0/1/2/3 user clicks on a trust level 4/mod/admin user’s profile, the private message button should show.

When a trust level 0/1/2/3 user clicks on a trust level 0/1/2/3 user’s profile, the private message button won’t show.

When a trust level 4 user click on a trust level 0/1/2/3/4/mod/admin user’s profile, the private message button should show.

Someday in Dec 2020.

I can probably help with this. I’ve got a plugin that allows sending to admins, so it should be possible to adopt it to your needs.
