# How to set and apply different color variables under Discourse-fully light/dark

How to set and apply different color variables under discourse-fully light/dark, directly add light and dark color variables in about.json template-dark: {}, template-light: {}, it works in light mode, but not in dark mode, how to handle it so that the colors in dark mode also work
