when trying to open in the discourse hub app it opens to the login screen, you log in then it takes you right to the forum

I believe that’s how the discourse-hub app works, and it is not designed to open or add a PWA. If you want to add a PWA, you can visit the Discourse URL in Chrome and Add to Home Screen from there. If I misunderstood your question, looping in @pmusaraj to confirm.
