# Discourse in localhost

I would like to try out Discourse software, but before I am going to pay for hosting I would like to play around with it a bit.
I remember that I saw one good step by step tutorial somewhere while ago “how to install discourse into local machine”, but I am not able to find it right now.
Hopefully someone can point it out or suggest which is the best and the easiest way to install Discourse locally to understand and learn the soft?
And what to you recommend, where to start and with which languages I should get more familiar to start making minor modifications and installing plugins and so on?
