Install this theme component
Bring a fresh icon system to your Discourse forum by swapping out the default Font Awesome icons with [Lucide](https://lucide.dev) — a modern, open-source set of consistent, lightweight stroke icons.

### Why Lucide?
Discourse ships with Font Awesome, which is a solid general-purpose icon library. However, the free tier of Font Awesome has a limited selection of stroke-style icons, not enough to build a coherent stroke icon system. Lucide fills that gap: it’s a community-maintained fork of Feather Icons with a growing library of clean SVG icons that work beautifully at all sizes.
This component is used here on [meta.discourse.org](https://meta.discourse.org) as part of the Meta Branded theme.

The component adds a limited set that aims to map all default Font Awesome icons.

### Notes & Known Limitations
- Not all Font Awesome icons have a direct Lucide equivalent. In some cases, the component intentionally keeps the Font Awesome version (e.g. filled variants of the square and circle icons).
- The icon mapping is actively being improved. Feedback on specific icons is welcome!

I’m so happy to see this!
I stumbled on it by chance when I made Quote Callout TC, and the lightweight stroke (and variation) makes really a difference. I’m now using it most of the time when I can!

The icon of the button to jump the the post one is replying to is like a ‘share’ button, which doesn’t seem right.

[Icons – Lucide](https://lucide.dev/icons/calendar-heart) calendar-heart can’t show in Discourse. I’ve added it in subnet svg icons.

I think that functionality is purely for Font Awesome 6.
In order to get more Lucide icons into your site I believe you need to do this:

I find the icons at the bottom of the edit history very confusing. The icon on the left that means “go to the previous version” is mirrored on the right to mean “jump to the latest version.” Can’t the icons be designed as matching pairs so that you can use them in the same way for both “back” and “forward”?
