# Discourse or discuz ？

Thank you for your reply. You’ve understood things in great detail, but I’d like to add a few points:

1. Regarding the versions: X3.5 is currently the stable version suitable for live sites. X5.0 is the latest version, but it was just released this month and is currently intended for developers to adapt templates and plugins — it’s not yet suitable for production use.
2. Discuz is open-source, but only for personal, non-commercial use. Commercial use requires purchasing a license.
3. The Discuz! X5 website you mentioned at the end is not the open-source version — it’s the official SaaS version provided by the company, and it’s paid.
