Within the comment rather than in a ‘proper’ reply? If so, I think that is intentional to keep the comments more lightweight than a full composer experience. This has been asked before ([How to mention in Discourse comments, or disable commenting?](https://meta.discourse.org/t/how-to-mention-in-discourse-comments-or-disable-commenting/314645)), but I don’t think a #Contribute > Feature request was submitted in the end.
