I’m evaluating this plugin to do a reddit-style AMA. Three questions jumped out at me as soon as I installed it:
- Is there no way to limit who can start a topic with post voting enabled, by group or trust level? (appears not)
- Can I remove the voting from the first post? (looks like it could be done using CSS)
- What happens to a post voting topic if the plugin is disabled again? (appears the topic goes flat again and nested comments turn into regular replies in the timeline, and voting disappears)
Has anyone got good examples to share of this plugin being used successfully for an AMA? Would be interested to see it!
Edit: some more things I noticed:
- replies to the OP get far more prominence than the comments on the first reply. this is nice for some cases but not so much for an AMA where it’s the answer by the famous person that everyone is most interested in reading. On reddit, for instance, the OP gets a highlighted color.
- the comments are more limited than the replies. so for instance if the person answering wants to share a photo or onebox, they can’t do that.
