Hi, when editing a post which is in a topic_voting mode, the Save button does not display Save or Publish, but Reply. (well in French it says “Répondre”), which I guess is incorrect since when I edit a post, I do not reply to it, I modify it.

My first thought was to correct the label js.post_voting.topic.answer.label and write "Save, (in French “Enregistrer)” instead, but this modified translation to my surprise modified also the standard “Reply” to a post button to “Save”.

There is something to look at here, thanks.

To sum up, when I Edit a post in the post_voting mode, I cannot find a way for the Save button to display. It displays Reply instead.

Hallo, kan de standaard actieve knop “Activiteit” zijn en niet “Stemmen” omdat “Stemmen” de chronologische volgorde verbreekt? Bedankt.

There isn’t currently a way in the UI (though plenty of requests for it if you want to add your voice/vote :slight_smile: Add the option to change a topic to Post Voting format by admin/staff)

I believe it is possible using the rails console...

I think you need to change the topics.subtype to ‘question_answer’, though I haven’t given it a runthrough recently to double check if that’s all that’s needed, so you may need to test first.

Possibly also changing all the posts types so they’re not considered ‘replies’ may also be part of it. :thinking: Post Voting topics don’t like ‘replies’ so that may necessary too.

Het zou fijn zijn om avatars te tonen in de commentaarsectie, of op zijn minst een instelling.

The design of this plugin is to upvote the so to speak best answer.

The main replies can be viewed by activity(in order) or by number of votes.

Now if you mean the mini comments? Not sure if there is a direct option. But these mini comments are supposed to be replies to the master comment/post. Vs replies to one another

Hallo, ik verwees naar de antwoorden, ze zijn standaard gesorteerd op stemmen, een sorteervolgorde die niet natuurlijk is voor forumgebruikers (alle forums), die gewend zijn aan chronologische volgorde. Ofwel zou de standaard chronologische volgorde moeten zijn of een admin-instelling zou het mogelijk moeten maken om deze op chronologische volgorde in te stellen (suggestie)

Ok, ja, een optie om de standaardvolgorde te kiezen. Maar dit bootst eigenlijk na hoe Reddit reacties doet.
Het oorspronkelijke idee was een vraag en antwoord. Waarbij het geüpvote antwoord in theorie het beste antwoord zou zijn door de communitystem.
Ik zou voorstellen om een Feature request topic aan te maken. Voor flexibiliteit van keuze is dit een geweldig idee.

Just noticed another weird thing (is it by design)? I cannot reply to a reply, I get an error saying “You cannot reply to a reply”… Is it that only small comments are allowed ? The reply icon is invisible and if I try to quote a reply to reply to it, I get this error. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Ik geloof dat dit zo is ontworpen. Elke hoofdreactie is bedoeld om gericht te zijn op het oorspronkelijke bericht.

De oorspronkelijke bedoeling van het ontwerp was voor een vraag- en antwoordcategorie. In deze onderwerpen stemmen mensen op reacties op het oorspronkelijke bericht, met het idee dat degene met de meeste stemmen het aanbevolen antwoord is.

In tegenstelling tot de Solved Plugin, die het oorspronkelijke bericht en het personeel in staat stelt een reactie als antwoord te kiezen.

Oké, als ik het goed heb, voorkomt dit dat we tekst citeren waarop we willen reageren, maar ik begrijp dat het zo is ontworpen.

Ik denk dat de Journal-plugin meer flexibiliteit kan hebben, maar zonder de stemfunctie.

Hallo, het lijkt erop dat je niet meer terug kunt naar de stemmodus nadat je op de knop Activiteit hebt geklikt?

Nog twee problemen met deze plugin:

  1. Als een thread slechts één bericht heeft, dat is de OP, kunnen de whispers worden aangemaakt, maar niet worden gezien. Niet alleen dat, maar ze kunnen ook niet worden gewijzigd of verwijderd (ook al staan ze in je persoonlijke activiteitentab).
  2. Als een thread antwoorden heeft, is de VOTES-knop standaard ingeschakeld, wat voorkomt dat whispers worden weergegeven. Gebruikers moeten weten dat ze op de ACTIVITY-knop moeten klikken om de whispers weer te geven, wat niet duidelijk is.

Which vote count? There is a request to Show OP votes in topic list. Also, the topic-voting plugin supports showing votes on the topic list.

Post voting specifically, not topic voting. I’d like to use this as a sort of feature request voting tool :slight_smile:

Understand there’s visibility on the topic voting, but I definitely prefer the interactions with the Post Voting plugin!

I’m evaluating this plugin to do a reddit-style AMA. Three questions jumped out at me as soon as I installed it:

  • Is there no way to limit who can start a topic with post voting enabled, by group or trust level? (appears not)
  • Can I remove the voting from the first post? (looks like it could be done using CSS)
  • What happens to a post voting topic if the plugin is disabled again? (appears the topic goes flat again and nested comments turn into regular replies in the timeline, and voting disappears)

Has anyone got good examples to share of this plugin being used successfully for an AMA? Would be interested to see it!

Edit: some more things I noticed:

  • replies to the OP get far more prominence than the comments on the first reply. this is nice for some cases but not so much for an AMA where it’s the answer by the famous person that everyone is most interested in reading. On reddit, for instance, the OP gets a highlighted color.
  • the comments are more limited than the replies. so for instance if the person answering wants to share a photo or onebox, they can’t do that.
