Discourse Rewind

That’s the thing, I am in the latest version.

This is what I see:

But I am not seeing this plugin in my list

Since it is a core plugin, I assume I don’t need to upload it, right? But if there is that possibility, I wouldn’t mind just adding it manually.

There has been no version bump since the plugin was merged. Discourse only compares the version number when it decides if you are up to date, but there are new commits every day, and I think the one that made Rewind available was merged one or two days after your last update.

OK, thank you so much @Moin

I will check in a couple of days if it shows up, can’t wait to show it to my community

If you don’t want to wait, I think you could update at /admin/update.

So far, no one has translated “rewind” to Spanish.

You can change the texts on your forum like you can edit any text or, even better, add the translations on Crowdin so all Discourse forums benefit from your work.

Awesome @Moin, thanks for the suggestion, happy to help out and give back a bit of all the help I’ve received around here

Update: just finished uploading the spanish translation of Rewind in Crowdin, in case you wanna check it out.

Hope it’s helpful

And I got it all settled in my community, looks awesome!

And now those translations have been merged into Discourse, so every forum will receive your translations the next time it’s updated

Is there any reason that even after viewing my Rewind, sometimes when I log back in or use a new browser it shows it on the avatar again as if I haven’t seen it?

Is it saved as a cookie?

Quite irritating to keep having it pop back up!

It used to be saved on the browser localStorage, but not since FEATURE: Store rewind dismiss state in database instead of localStorage by ZogStriP · Pull Request #36625 · discourse/discourse · GitHub was merged ~2 weeks ago.

Is your instance up-to-date?

Ah ok maybe it’s just happened one last time since that update. Thanks!

Thanks for including the per-user ability to turn it off forever. Personally I find sites that do this sort of thing incredibly creepy, so it’s good that it can be disabled per user.

Oops, I tried it in French, and all I got was a bunch of two letter words!

de = of; la/le/les = the; et=and
:person_shrugging:
I guess French is not the only language with this issue. Is there a way to fix it using existing translation files?

Enabling Discourse Rewind can break existing published pages, adding contents there that destroys the page, makes it narrow and unreadable.

Workaround: disable the plugin.

Not sure whether it’s happening to other people…
