# Discourse Shortlink Router | Simplify support URLs

The issue I have with this kind of service is that they can, and will be discontinued in the future, and the URLs can potentially be redirected to something malicious.

I have no doubt about your good faith, but my experience is that it happens\[1\], so I’d rather not rely on it at all if I can avoid it.

1. On a forum I migrated, many images were hosted on a third-party service that overrode all image links after a few years 🙃
