# Display custom text for featured link

It would be great if the text for the custom link could be replaced with custom text via composer. For example, some of our links are affiliate links that display the domain of the affiliate network instead of the shop page to which they are later redirected to.

Can’t the link text be edited by changing the text in the `[]` of a hyperlink? You could use a hyperlink for this kind of thing.

I don’t think you can edit the featured link like that. Even if you remove the link from the topic, the featured link you added remains unchanged.
The one at [Adding a featured link to your topic](https://meta.discourse.org/t/adding-a-featured-link-to-your-topic/317027) also shows [discourse.org](http://discourse.org) instead of [blog.discourse.org](http://blog.discourse.org).

We are experimenting with the featured links for sponsored content placements, so it would be a nice feature to be able to edit the link itself, but also change the featured link text, icon etc…

Agree with this feature suggestion. We’d link to add links to sites at a different subdomain but the featured link text defaults to the domain name only which is a little misleading to users.
