Docker: No "update complete" message in log

(Michael Downey) #1

As a Discourse administrator running the Docker update process via /admin/docker, I want to see some type of human-readable notification that the update is complete in the log, so I know the process was successful.

Currently, the last entry is something like:

Restarting unicorn pid: 39

… which is a bit ambiguous.

The script actually does print DONE, it just never gets there @sam.

  log("Restarting unicorn pid: #{pid}")
  Process.kill("USR2", pid.to_i)
  log("DONE")

So I am changing it to

  log("***********************************************")
log("*** After restart, upgrade will be complete ***")
  log("***********************************************")
  log("Restarting unicorn pid: #{pid}")
  Process.kill("USR2", pid.to_i)
  log("DONE")
