# Does backup store topic, post, reply etc?

I set backup and .tar.gz file is listed on backup tab.

.tar.gz file has all of topic, post, reply, user data? or only has site setting?

I configured discourse with ec2. If ec2 is broken can I restore 100% as before?

It contains all your site content as well as the settings, theme components etc.

If you have the backup file and your app.yml file (which has your smtp settings and plugins), you have all you need.
