# Does changing ‘must approve users’ effect existing users?

Hello, I was wondering if the must\_approve\_users site setting still affects existing forum accounts or if it only sets new registrations from that point on to approval. We are using Discourse version 3.3.0.beta2-dev and the site setting option for that no longer has the revocation warning in the description (attached is what we see) so I thought I’d check first and thank you. 🙂

All existing users are be marked as approved when you turn on that setting.
