# Does docker install support NTLM authentication for SMTP?

Does docker install of Discourse support NTLM authentication for SMTP?

I don’t think so. You’ll need to use a username and password that Discourse will use to authenticate against the smtp server. The smtp server can use ntlm if it wants.
