# Does google analytics only show logged in users?

This is analytics using the google analytics quick setup in Discourse

I compare the nginx access logs with analytics and it usually seems like analytics only tracks logged in users. Like there’s IPs posting to my logs that don’t seem like bots and analytics ignores them.

I think folks block analytics scripts, which accounts for the difference in logging.

Yes almost certainly the widespread use of ad blockers. What is anyone gonna do about that?
