# Easy tag selection when creating posts

I don’t think the title is quite right, but I couldn’t think of a better term.
The point is that I have 355 tags in a category which are divided into 4 groups. 296 55 2 2
Now I have set the category so that you have to select at least one from each group of tags, but how can I make this easily accessible to the user?
Currently only 5 are displayed when opening the tag bar, even if I display more, the number would be unmanageable.
Do you have any ideas on how I can achieve this?

You can set more using the setting below and see how it looks, I guess. And sorting them alphabetically may help – by default they are sorted by popularity.

Unfortunately, this is not sufficient for the number of tags. I should somehow be able to make it clearer which of the 4 groups can be selected.
What I could think of spontaneously would be a menu that shows the groups and then clicking on the groups brings up the days.

I am not a 100% sure but this fairly new Plugin might help accomplish what you’re looking for the plugin DeV has been pretty responsive with ideas

If I understand the plugin correctly, it doesn’t really help me. Because the user has to select the tags.
So there are 2 large groups, one is the districts in germany, which are 296, so that the reader knows where the poster is located and the second group is a selection of systems.

May need more context. So your looking for the poster’s geolocation auto populate that tag?
All I can recommend is to maybe post your question in the plugin linked. And see what he says.
If it will let you target seperate tag groups. The dropdowns can make selecting tag from tag group A then select from tag group B maybe.

No, that is not necessary, there is also a selection online.
I just want to improve the clarity, because currently you don’t know which tags belong to which categories when you create a post.

You would need to verify with the plugin author. But I believe with being able to target Tag groups. If your tags are organized in Tag groups. The plugin should help as you specify category and tag groups
The poster yes will still need to select a tag from the target tag group
As admin I do find at times it does with the regular composer seem to populate all tags instead of ones that are restricted to a given Category. Though I thought this might be more just due to me being admin.

yes, i’m not sure about that either, maybe i’ll have to create a test account.
What bothers me a little about the plugin, or rather the description, is that I don’t want any new new topic buttons. 😓
