Edit Post but show no revision trail?

#1

Is it possible for an admin to make an edit to a post without showing a revision trail? We did an import from VB, and there are a bunch of little things we need to clean up. I just don’t want it to look like or show that there were a bunch of edits.

thanks

Yes you can. As an admin (or moderator) you should have an option to “delete revision” from the edit history. See the image below for an example. The large red delete button would delete the revision currently selected.

Thanks for this it was helpful. Im wondering if there is a way to take it a step further and stop it from bumping the thread up?

In order to do that, you will need to not edit the last post. I think you can usually manage that by creating another plausible-looking post on the end.

Yes, there is a new “reset bump date” staff option on topics. So you’d remove the revision and reset the bump date.
