# Editing tags shouldn't bump the topic's timestamp

Yep, any last post edit will bring it to the top. It can be confusing when a minor edit makes a post resurface from months past. Thankfully, [they don’t generate notifications.](https://meta.discourse.org/t/when-do-edits-in-an-old-message-trigger-an-update-to-users-message-order/32837)

On a related note, resurrected threads can’t be dismissed by deleting the last post - the previous ancient post [stays at the top of the list.](https://meta.discourse.org/t/old-topic-containing-newly-deleted-post-still-appears-at-the-top/31627)
