# Email assign notification - can't reply

Our discourse setup has working reply by email. It seems the mails generated by the assign plugin don’t have the option to reply to the topic by email.
In the plugin options there is a setting called **assign mailer enabled → When enabled, the assigned user will receive a notification email on each assignment** only.
Any way to fix this?

It doesn’t sound like it.
Do you have `reply by email enabled` selected and a `reply be email address` set and `manual polling enabled`?
(The assigned setting isn’t your concern right now.)

The screenshot below shows an example of the mail I receive when someone sends a private message. It says at the bottom of the page that I can reply to this email to respond. I get the same results when I get a mail about a topic.
When someone assigns me I receive a different mail. It only gives me a link to click on, and not the reply by e-mail option.
Just to be safe I have included the settings you asked for:
Manual polling is not enabled, but the pop3 polling happens every 1 minute.
Also I have verified that replying on a private message or topic by mail will end up on discourse. It shows the received mails with their reply key.

Not completely sure about that. It does say it is up to date 🙂
I hope I made things a bit more clear. Does anyone of you do get the option to reply by mail when getting assigned?

I was confused. It seems that Troy by mail is working. Did you turn on **assign mailer enabled**? And still the assign messages do not have the option to reply?

It’s always a good idea to verify things I guess 🙂
I disabled and enabled that option. The resulting mail after assigning a post remains the same.
Could anyone with the power to do so (@sam ) assign this topic to me, just to see what kind of mail I will receive about it?
