# Email does not work; Net::SMTPAuthenticationError

its working now, thanks all for the help 🙂

the solution was to use

```plaintext
  DISCOURSE_SMTP_USER_NAME: mail@mg.mydomain.com

```

instead of

```plaintext
  DISCOURSE_SMTP_USER_NAME: mail

```
