# Email Links Don’t Open App

When I receive emails from Discourse communities I am a part of, why doesn’t the link open up the Discourse app ony phone? Right now, the links open up the Discourse page in Safari.

So I believe the reason this could be happening is because DiscourseHub is not a default browser. I try opening a link by myself on the iPad and it takes me to Safari.
But if DiscourseHub was a default browser it might cause some conflict when opening up links.

There should be a protocol that Discourse Hub uses so clicking on link would “pass through” Safari and go to the app if installed on the phone. I have Discourse app on my phone and that does not work. As you said, making Discourse app the default browser doesn’t seem right.
