Email Notification of PM isn't working

On my site users aren’t getting email notifications when private messages are sent. The boxes are checked in the the users preferences to receive emails. I have run two tests with two sets of different users, and no sent emails come up in the sent emails logs. Any ideas of what could be going on? Thanks!

Is there anything in the skipped email logs? (/admin/email/skipped)

No, nothing there.

Are they in the send email logs then? (/admin/email/sent)

I’m seeing the same thing. Nothing in sent, skipped or logs. Checked Mandrill and email for PM was not generated (user is getting other email notices). User preferences are set correctly.

Let us know what else we should be checking for, we’ve had some users miss out on important notices already.

What types of PMs are they? Are they PMs that have been created from a topic (clicking on the avatar & then selecting Message)? If so @zogstrip just squashed a bug related to that kind of PM. If you upgrade to the latest, you should have that patch.

If it is some other type of PM message, can you list the steps to reproduce the problem?
