# Email notifications for Watching, always, even when logged in

I have come to understand that if I am logged into a Discourse instance, I won’t receive e-mail notifications for anything I am _Watch_ing, in order to reduce duplication. That is fair enough, for some people I guess.
But what if I want those e-mail notifications, even if/when I am logged in?
As an aside, what is the frequency of e-mails to **Category** s and **Topic** s I am _Watch_ing? Is it an e-mail per posting, or do I have no choice but to receive periodic digests of multiple messages?

By default, you should still get notifcations by email if logged in, but only if you haven’t been seen for 10 minutes.
You can try changing that behaviour here in your prefs from:
