A bug report highlights that email notifications on Android devices in dark mode suffer from poor contrast in preformatted and quoted text, making them difficult to read. downey reports the issue with Thunderbird and K-9 Mail, noting white text on light-grey backgrounds in both text types. dax updates the report to include quoted text. awesomerobot confirms a fix has been implemented via a CSS change, which uses attribute selectors to improve styling, and downey acknowledges the update.
We were using an attribute selector in CSS for these blockquote/code/pre styles, and email support for them are a bit patchy, so here we’ve switched to a element selector. If you continue to have issues after updating please let us know and we’ll do some more digging!
