Just thinking about this more, as I’m putting “contact me via” buttons on my site, including email, Instagram, FB Messenger, and maybe Signal, and frankly I’d probably just prefer a [Link for new DM / personal chat message with pre-filled information - #11 by lindsey](https://meta.discourse.org/t/link-for-new-dm-personal-chat-message-with-pre-filled-information/256988/11) and have it create a staged user who directly messages me on my Discourse forum. While I can do this with the email, I find even I don’t want to click on a site and open up an email app on my phone and send an email, and I imagine many users might not want to either. I suppose I could create a textbox that someone fills out and it submits the form to the Discourse incoming email address, and yet I think a new chat DM link would be much faster, especially if those links get updated to allow people to send a message to a specific channel and not just individuals.
