Wrote a plugin. Got my bearings after reading [this](https://meta.discourse.org/t/overriding-user-guardian-rb-in-a-plugin-no-fork-necessary/174839).

Might not be the best way to do this but here it [is](https://github.com/arivanandan/discourse-embed-complete).
