# Event Listing - List topics by custom field "Date"

What would you like done?
I would like to have a category that lists topics by date, aka an event listing.
Grouped by Month like this
All year round
- 17th - 22nd Topic Title
- 17th - 22nd Topic Title
January
- 17th - 22nd Topic Title
- 17th - 22nd Topic Title
February
- 17th - 22nd Topic Title
- 17th - 22nd Topic Title
March
- 17th - 22nd Topic Title
- 17th - 22nd Topic Title

Another angle here could be a category “Events” with a list of sub-categories which are the months.
Is it possible to display a page with all subcategories showing on the page broken up into their own block as above?

If you are looking for other options, I think a sort order by **Original Post Title** would be the most flexible. You would have to title the events YYYY-MM-DD to get them to sort properly. You could manually pin the upcoming events and set the “pinned until” date to automatically unpin them.

Note that Google Inbox does this kind of dynamic by date grouping and it is quite nice.
