Experiment: Collaborative content gardening hub for meta

Looks like the title of this doc was changed, but the index still refers to it as auto captioning.

And I think this post is only a wiki because it was posted to the Wiki and moved to another category afterwards. I don’t think it still needs to be a wiki.

I’ve suggested an edit for the index topic, and un-wiki’d the support topic.

Thank you. Sorry, I forgot about suggesting edits (or at least about the fact that it works for index too).

No worries! I also added a bunch of missing ?silent=true while I was in there.

All accepted.

Note: for some reason the sidebar isn’t updated yet. I think that’s a separate issue we’ve seen elsewhere and are already looking into though, so we’ll leave it alone for now and hopefully it’ll get cleared up soon when that fix is made.

I’ve added fixed to Category creation floating box blocks out settings at the bottom, and suddenly, @system opened the topic (and placed a topic timer to close it). I suppose closed reports no longer need the tag then?

I think it’s fine to add the tag still if you’d like. We’ll try to sort out making that work better soon-ish:

These two feature requests seem very similar:

I want to share a topic filter that I came up with to show topics to add the fixed tag to. It’s as follows:

category:bug,ux -tag:fixed,completed group:staff github.com/discourse/discourse/pull

Essentially, it returns topics without the fixed and completed tags, in the Contribute > Bug and Contribute > UX categories that have a PR linked in the topic.

It’s not entirely foolproof, but it works quite well.

I don’t think this is still the case, so maybe the category descriptions need an update.

I just remembered that the limit on creating topics in News and Events > Announcements and News and Events > Blog was also removed after the restructuring, until Nat kindly added it back, saving us from more spam in a category that everyone watches by default.
So maybe it’s not the descriptions but the configuration that needs an update. If that’s the case I wonder how losing those limitations happened.

Yep, those restrictions should still be there. I know how they got lost – it was an issue related to re-parenting categories that I thought has since been fixed, but I’ll pay close attention, given your report here: Category security settings reset when changing parent/subcategory relationship.

I’ll get it sorted later today.

Edit: should be all set now

Maybe it makes sense to re-open Documentation Plugin - Index Topic not working after Restore - #11 by nathank so not only TL4s can write there again. (Another option would be to put the new post and the report here Discourse Doc Categories - #159 by mohx into a new topic where everyone can post about index topics still needing to be deleted and re-added to the configuration.)

As a one-off I unlocked the topic, if it branches into a separate discussion it should be an easy split

It’s scheduled to close again a month after the last reply FYI, so if nobody ends up replying we don’t leave an old support thread open.

Oops! I didn’t even notice that sorry. The hazards of having too much privilege, eh?

I’ve tried to merge two topics here, but due to the limitations of being TL4 (as opposed to being a mod i.e. I can’t delete) I left a bit of a mess.

This good Topic would better if deleted, as the post has been migrated to become the OP of another Topic. It remains as an (archived) ghost:

Allow more options when creating recurrent event

Would someone mind doing the me the honour of deleting it?

Is it possible for the title of 无法登录什么原因 to be translated? Understanding Chinese, I propose it to be ‘Unable to login, what is the reason?’. I flagged it as Inaccurate Translation, but although the flag was approved, no action was taken. Is it possible to add this as a translation for EN?

I cannot edit the English version because the content of the post is English, so AI detected it as English, which is correct.

I think the language detection for title and body are separated, but I don’t know how I could edit the title in this case where the body isn’t translated

任何随机子域名重定向到www and @顶级域名重定向到www weren’t posted in a category where first posts are wikis by default but were moved to Wiki > Sysadmins later. Could someone convert these into wikis?

לייק 1

I’m still confused about where & when translation happens… Anyone else (EN) seeing those titles untranslated here, but translated at the topic?

(I’ve wikified both.)

Thanks!

I don’t think oneboxes are translated, so in my post, which is English, the title is added as it is in the forum. By toggling translations for you, you don’t change parts of my post. My post only contains the link, not the title of the topic. That’s not part of the markdown, but the cooked version.
