Experiment: Collaborative content gardening hub for meta

Looks like the title of this doc was changed, but the index still refers to it as auto captioning.

And I think this post is only a wiki because it was posted to the Wiki and moved to another category afterwards. I don’t think it still needs to be a wiki.

I’ve suggested an edit for the index topic, and un-wiki’d the support topic.

Thank you. Sorry, I forgot about suggesting edits (or at least about the fact that it works for index too).

No worries! I also added a bunch of missing ?silent=true while I was in there.

All accepted.

Note: for some reason the sidebar isn’t updated yet. I think that’s a separate issue we’ve seen elsewhere and are already looking into though, so we’ll leave it alone for now and hopefully it’ll get cleared up soon when that fix is made.

I’ve added fixed to Category creation floating box blocks out settings at the bottom, and suddenly, @system opened the topic (and placed a topic timer to close it). I suppose closed reports no longer need the tag then?

I think it’s fine to add the tag still if you’d like. We’ll try to sort out making that work better soon-ish:

These two feature requests seem very similar:

I want to share a topic filter that I came up with to show topics to add the fixed tag to. It’s as follows:

category:bug,ux -tag:fixed,completed group:staff github.com/discourse/discourse/pull

Essentially, it returns topics without the fixed and completed tags, in the Contribute > Bug and Contribute > UX categories that have a PR linked in the topic.

It’s not entirely foolproof, but it works quite well.

I don’t think this is still the case, so maybe the category descriptions need an update.

I just remembered that the limit on creating topics in News and Events > Announcements and News and Events > Blog was also removed after the restructuring, until Nat kindly added it back, saving us from more spam in a category that everyone watches by default.
So maybe it’s not the descriptions but the configuration that needs an update. If that’s the case I wonder how losing those limitations happened.

Yep, those restrictions should still be there. I know how they got lost – it was an issue related to re-parenting categories that I thought has since been fixed, but I’ll pay close attention, given your report here: Category security settings reset when changing parent/subcategory relationship.

I’ll get it sorted later today.
