# External links in new tab

How do I open all external links in a new tab? External links on my current Discourse setup open on the same page. Could do with some help. Thanks!

Ah, my bad. Sorry! I just got this feature here. [External Links not opening in new tab](https://meta.discourse.org/t/external-links-not-opening-in-new-tab/50092)

There was this preview window on the right which showed these suggestions after typing out my question and description.

Go to your admin panel in `/admin/site_settings/category/user_preferences` and add a flag to this option
