# Extra spaces within text

For formatting reasons, I would like to add extra spaces between words. Discourse normally removes these spaces, but sometimes it improves readability. I can use backticks, but that changes the font. I can use ![image](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/meta/original/4X/1/2/d/12d7039240dd0039c37c3857f11c8cacaa0fb98a.png)but that vanishes the next time I edit the text.

Is there a way to add extra spaces between words and keep it persistent, without changing font?
