I suspect the email address your forum is sending emails from has a bad format

Hi sam
the follow setting works well on test email, and welcome email when user register.

config.action_mailer.delivery_method = :smtp
   config.action_mailer.smtp_settings = {
     :address              => "secure.emailsrvr.com",
     :port                 => 465,
     :domain               => 'yourdomain.com',
     :user_name            => 'support@yourdomain.com',
     :password             => 'password',
     :authentication       => 'login',
   #  :enable_starttls_auto => true
     :tls                 => true }

notification_email in setting of the admin control panel.

Try renaming to

support@x-mirage.com

I don’t think that format you are using is supported.

(Sam Saffron) #5

Recategorized this as a bug, we should not allow you to save this setting with an invalid email, the setting must comply with an email valid check.

(Jeff Atwood) #6

We should also be checking for other invalid settings, like minimum post size zero, etc.

(Jeff Atwood) #7

@Neil how are we doing on validating for reasonably correct email in settings, as well as preventing zero in settings where that is utterly unsupported?

(Neil Lalonde) #8

This one got buried far down on my todo list. I’ll bump it up.

(Jeff Atwood) #9

Are we validating email-expected fields to be actual emails yet?

(Jeff Atwood) #10

This is now complete, email addresses are validated as emails.
