# Feature request: searchable emojis

One beautiful feature in Slack is the ability to type the name of an emoji rather than flip through page after page scanning each row of icons. That would be wonderful on Discourse too!

Maybe, assuming your word matches the word of the emoji. You can already match on name by typing colon then some letters, so this already exists…

hmmm `:blush:` does autocomplete, or are you talking about something else ?

Oh man, I did not realize you could do that! Thanks for showing me that. It is the same in Slack, but there is also a search bar in the emoji menu. :discourse:
