# Feature requests for AI-Summarization

Just pulling two discussions into a proper feature request…

1. Make `ai summary backfill topic max age days` relative to `updated_at`, not `created_at`. Currently if you use the max age feature, it does not prioritize the topics highest in Latest. In fact in my case [it leaves many Latest topics unsummarized](https://meta.discourse.org/t/how-does-regenerating-summaries-work/333408/18).

2. Add option to skip backfilling PMs. Our forum has [10x more PMs than regular topics](https://meta.discourse.org/t/ai-summary-backfill-is-wasting-tokens-summarizing-pms/344765/4) so this wastes tokens. @Falco [agreed](https://meta.discourse.org/t/ai-summary-backfill-is-wasting-tokens-summarizing-pms/344765/2) this was doable.

Summarization is a great feature for our long-running topics- looking forward to deploying it!
