If the email matching is too complicated, I feel like “Discourse usernames always match WordPress (and vice versa)” can’t be that uncommon.
Even if someone doesn’t have an SSO system which assumes a unique username, there surely must be many smaller sites with, say, dozens of WordPress users where this is true by convention.
