# Filter Email Notifications by Topic?

Hello there 👋
I’m struggling to find the right option here, but guessing it exists… we have several topics (categories) and users who which to subscribe to just a single one, so they get Email notifications just for that topic.
I can’t see how that’s done. I can set to Watch all threads in a topic, but not tie that into the email settings. 🤔
Is this possible? Can you point me in the right direction?

(Relatedly I was looking for an RSS feed for a filter is that feasible too? Two-for-one, thanks! 😃)

Notifications and emails are two different tracks.
- Use the 🔔 bell icon on the **topic** to set your notification level for that **topic**.
- Use the 🔔 bell icon on the **category** to set your notification level for that **category**.
You can do a similar thing with tags.
If you want your notifications to also be sent via email, that happens by default when **none of your web browsers have pinged the website for 10 minutes or more**. See your email preferences if you wish to change this default behavior.
