# Finding Discourse Stable Release update info on Meta

I often use the #release-notes tag to follow what’s new in Discourse (_watching first post_).
Looking up the `stable` release `2.3.1`, I could not find any relevant topic for that release.
It would be useful to maintain links between topics tagged #release-notes in #feature:announcements and the matching MINOR version topic in #releases, e.g., to _reply as linked topic_ of [Discourse Version 2.3 - #5](https://meta.discourse.org/t/discourse-version-2-3/96690/6) to announce stable release `2.3.1`.

We do not write up release notes for the stable point releases. Such releases occur when we have a critical bug or performance fix, or security fix we wish to back port. To see what’s changed, we recommend checking the commit log for the stable branch: [Commits · discourse/discourse · GitHub](https://github.com/discourse/discourse/commits/stable). You can see all changes there.
