# First-login home page

I’ve been wondering whether there’s a way to set a first-login home page to force a user to choose main interests, which would then show the user only some tags or categories (or make them prioritary), like Pinterest and Flipboard do. It could work for different language users too.
I believe this is possible through groups, but don’t know how to set it up.
Also, it’s different from setting a specific page as homepage for each group. Everyone would still have Latest as their homepage, for example.

It’s also possible to make some categories available only to members of certain groups and then allow users to join those groups. See [Understanding groups and category permissions](https://meta.discourse.org/t/understanding-groups-and-category-permissions/87678)
If you’d like a custom form that did that, it would take a custom theme component.
