# Fixed Position of Subcategories

Is there an easy way to choose the position of sub-categories? For example, I want my sub-categories to be alphabetized under the parent category for easier navigation (since I have the show subcategory list setting on). I’ve tried using the fixed position setting for sub categories, but that didn’t change how they are displayed on the parent category page.

If you use the reorder categories option (dropdown on top right of /categories page), I’m pretty sure that the order the categories display on that list (including subcategories) is the order they show up in on /categories and within the parent category (when fixed positions is checked).
Or at least that is how it appears on my forum? Would be weird if that was just coincidental, though.
