Flags for comments

(SketchUp Community Manager) #1

Hello all,

A lot of my power users use flags to then comment on something about it being in the wrong topic area or even some resources to help in my response. I don’t like “disagreeing” all the time to the flags because they are useful, but when I just agree, it also sends a PM to the user right?

Not sure the best way to handle this. Maybe there can be a feature to help power users/admins leave comments and notes kinda in the form of a flag but it could be positive or negative.

SEE SCREEN SHOT BELOW - when I click “Agree with Flag” does it send a PM?

I would love to see other people's workflows here around this.

Cheers!

You have two options here. Either click the :+1: Agree with flag button which will not send a private message or click the Defer button

What does defer do/mean?

(Régis Hanol) #4

Depending on the context it may mean that you don’t want to deal with the flag right now and want to defer it to later. You may also use defer when neither agree or disagree feel appropriate.

As for what it does, it simply removes the flag from the active list.

Does it still show up to other admins if I defer?

Also, how do I vie deferred flags?

(Jeff Atwood) #6

No, it does not. It is a deferred flag for everyone once a single staff member defers the flag.

You can view them under Admin, Flags, Old.

So the note in the Transifex regarding “defer” is incorrect then?
it says:

defer
In the context of flags it means ignore forever.

No, it is correct as written.
