# Forum Link Checker

Does anyone know of a link checker that would work with the forum? There are a bunch of external links which have been moved. And others need to be deleted.

I’m not 100% clear on what you are looking for, but if you know what links need to be replaced or deleted, you should be able to use:

I mean the kind of link checker that crawls an entire site looking for broken links. Would that work on a forum? I don’t want to just try it out in case it disrupts usage. I would only want to run it during a maintenance period.

Thanks for the string replacement article. That might come in handy some other time.

I haven’t tried it, but what you are asking for sounds similar to [GitHub - graydenshand/discourse\_link\_checker: A program to find broken links in Discourse · GitHub](https://github.com/graydenshand/discourse_link_checker).

@Grayden_Shand might have some information about using it.
