Have you tried Pavilion? It’s about a Discourse nextcloud integration, right?
Regarding rocket-chat + discourse. I think the combination is definitely not bad. Discourse is simply too “heavy” for more informal chats.
Sorry, too far away from me
No, I haven’t tried it. I have a server, and I’m looking for someone who can help me install the individual components on the server, get them running, and connect them to each other, for example, via OAuth.
okay, that

This is a group of plugin authors who have a cooperative. I also sometimes program Discourse plugins for customers.
@pfaffman also does installations, I think. Maybe he can help you.
Haha, for me too. I’m in Taiwan ![]()
I am occasionally in Berlin and would be very happy to attend a meeting!
No desire or time to help me with the project?
I suspect you’ll get more answers if you ask specific questions.
Write and tell me when you are in Berlin. Then we can try to organize a meeting…
Hi, as I wrote at the beginning, I need help getting Discourse and Rocket.Chat running on servers and linking them.
Hmm. For me, helping means: you do the work and people support you with specific questions (“I did this and that and am stuck here”).
However, it seems to me you need someone to do all the work. Nobody wants to take that on for free, and also not provide the necessary support that comes with it.
Thoka, you misunderstood me. I need help with setup and linking, and preferably in a way that teaches me so I can get support later, and yes, for free, as the project is voluntary and costs money instead of earning it.
My guess would be that very few people have this running in combination here, if any.
We are here and happy to answer questions. ![]()
Not sure if you’ve seen it yet, but we are currently developing a chat plugin, built directly into Discourse. It’s already working very well! Get in touch with @erlend_sh here if you want to check it out.
I would agree with that (I’ve been in the alpha test for a few days). It is much better than I expected, with channels, 1:1, 1:n etc. - once it gets a bit more polish, it will be able to replace Rocket.chat 95% of the time. My vote therefore: wait a bit longer.
